Best in the valley. fry rice is delicious.
After many many years with locations in downtown LA and Woodland Hills this is as good as Chinese food gets. Great food!!
Excellent customer service......very good food quality and reasonable pricing.....
Unique chiness food. The best in Los Angeles
I didn't like the noodles overpriced
thats why
Food is, as always quite good. Ambiance is, as always, lacking. Service is, as always, excellent. Prices are, as always, the highest in town. Worth it? Well, let me put it this way: I go here for my birthday (dinner for 3 =$80+), but my takeout/delivery business (and we're talking 45-50x/yr) goes to Shanghai Bistro. The food there is decent, and the prices are normal. Everything on their mnu is $4 less for the same menu item than Yang Chow. Even the fridge rice. So, Yang Chow stands out for the quality of the food. But they have priced themselves out of the local market. If they were competitive with the other half-dozen decent Chinese places within a mile or two, they would get a lot more business from me, and the other locals who feel largely the same.
Decent. Excellent value for the price. Sad to hear this location is closing August 21st 2018
Not a great selection and more American Chinese than anything. It didn't stick to a single theme
The preparation of the food is inconsistent. Some days the food is amazing and other days it is not that tasty. Some of their prices are a bit too high but when the food is good it's worth it.
Miss the slippery shrimp; miss the best shrimp dish in LA. Come for the food, ignore the atmosphere. Consistently, reliable, delicious food that never disappoints.
If you want to pay hi prices for Chinese fast food you should eat here. My order was ready on my table in less than 5 min,
The food was served cold. Left over from lunch. Good large portion. They charge for a cup of rice, not cooked right. Service is good. Clean.
Classic great chinese food. Everything is good here. I have been a customer for years.
Slippery shrimp is amazing! Great food all around and great service.
Best fried rice I've had in a long time.
We have been going to Yang Chow for 40+ years. The food is consistently good, and so is the service.
Excellent Chinese food at a reasonable price. 6 of us stuffed ourselves for $110. Great food, great price, great place.
Amazing closing soon. Must go
Still good but doesn't have the cache it once did, maybe because ownership seems more passive and less customer friendly. It's also kinda pricey for Chinese. Let's hope they notch things up again so it can be worth another star and the prices.
Slipper shrimp!! All of the food is amazing.
Good Food and prices. Hostess needs to be more attentive when folks come in to be seated.
Food is awesome. Service is good. Price is reasonable. I recommend it.
This is a greasy spoon the worst!!!! Chinese food I have ever ever had and I eat all over the world ,was so bad!!! chicken was chewy & fatty and such bad quality, shrimp was the size of a dime and tasted old no matter how much sauce they put on it and so greasey!! I guess that's why why they call it slippery shrimp EVERY THING WAS BAD!! how can you mess up orange chicken? ?? And it was 80 bucks??? SMH
Great as usual.Go before they close in August.Youl be sorry if you miss them.
Definitely my favorite Chinese restaurant in the valley.
The Shanghai Noodles were very tasty 😋 Also, the Sizzling Beef and Scallops and Yang Chow Fried Rice. Tsingtao Beer!
Everything. .. I MEAN EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS AWESOME! !!! ... i would change my rating to 5☆'s if it wasn't waiting but overall, IT'S AWESOME HERE!
We love this place, good food and service.
The food was authentic and delicious with great service.
Authentic Chinese cuisine in affordable price. Ambience is good. People are friendly. Nice quantity as well. Worth of money.
The best. Try house specials
Friendly attentive service. Comfort food- nothing fancy, just good yummy food in a relaxing atmosphere.
Kevin the waiter was nice. Everything else not so much. The most enjoyable part of my overall meal was the water. This place is not worth the price at all. The noodles were bearable. The beef and broccoli lacked flavor and for $14, the serving is small. The Thai tea tasted like it was powdered. Also, avoid the steamed pork dumplings. I just wasted $50 and took half of it to go. I'll have to feed it to someone to get my money's worth. If you have other options, take them! In the future I'll go to A & B Chinese in SCV. It is half the cost and quadruple the quality.
This is a wonderful family owned restaurant that has been serving up delicious, classic Chinese dishes for 35 years. Sadly, we were extremely disheartened to hear that the family will be closing this location. The land is being developed and the restaurant will leave. Such a shame because this is truly a great restaurant with excellent service. We will have to visit their other two locations.
This restaurant had been here for at least a couple decades. From the outside it perpetually looks closed because it so poorly lit, even at night. Inside it is plain and somewhat drab. Often I have found stains on tablecloths and occasionally napkins. Don't be surprised to see cups and saucers stacked near where you sit, as they tend to have them out in the open. The windows are scratched and dirty. My guess is the film on them is long worn out. Service is decent but not particularly friendly. As for the food, it is loaded with MSG unless you ask your food to be cooked without it. Typical dishes, nothing outstanding. Prices are average.. moderate.
Great Chinese food
Awesome place. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The food is delicious.
Love everything from here especially the slippery shrimp and pan fried noodles but unfortunately thos location is closing mid august. Really sad theyve been.there longer than ive been alive. Passadena or Chinatown is their other locations
Love it. Great services
Horrible everything was bad . The orange chicken tasted like batter crumbs of meat . So greasy . The egg rolls were incredibly greasy . The slippery shrimp was the size of a dime . The nudle were not cooked and when we asked for the to cook the the waiter stared at me and shook his head for a minute. This place is filled with greasy food . The only thing we enjoyed was water . Panda express is 100% better . Never cooming back . This place Has horrible service . We practically did not eat our food the asked us If we wanted to go and denied happily. This place is a disaster.
Best food around have been coming here for 25 years...... always five star :)
Usually very good Chinese food, but Wor Wonton soup was almost flavorless and pretty sparce when it came to the wontons and shrimp. Disappointing!
AMAZING FOOD! This place is legendary.
Very good. Maybe for those who grew up in LA they can always find something to whine about for this restaurant. But the food is authentic and the Chinese employees are authentic Chinese peoples, down to earth but tactful people. Price is maybe just a little high but once they bring the food you will know why. A lot of food and very tasty food. You will get off with $20-$22 each person.
Shrimp didn't smell good. Soup was cold
It's about the best place available in the Valley. You must try the Slippery Shrimp it's awesome!!!
Always fresh and very delicious chinese food. They have several locations, my favorite is the one in China Town. Just as good as the woodland hills location, just a bit more adventurous
Friendly staff. Attentive to all of our 11 guests, and most of all great food.
Best Chinese food I've had in 47 years in the planet--even the vegetarian option. And excellent service to match.
